SEPTEMBER HIGHLIGHTS

The month of Spring has long since sprung and it was a particularly satisfying month for Show Works. We had the pleasure of working on a variety of projects: a national road show, a shopping centre kids zone, a corporate communications campaign and some good old educational theatre. All the things that get our creative juices flowing.

Sanlam Sky Road Show
The Takalani characters have been hoofing around the country for the last 7 weeks, performing for children and adults alike in each province and truly bringing joy where ever they go. If you need a little joy-injection of your own, check out Zikwe breaking it down:

Direct Axis New Values Campaign
Direct Axis brought Show Works on board to help launch their new values to their staff in a fresh and interesting way. We got SUPER excited about this SUPER opportunity and decided what better way to launch these SUPER values than with a SUPERHERO! And so, Captain Axis and his Valuettes were born. For 5 consecutive weeks a new Valuette was introduced to the team at Direct Axis, using an array of weird and wonderful activations to get their message across: a hug-a-thon for CARE WEEK, a flashmob for CURIOSITY WEEK, a team-building day for COLLABORATION WEEK, a fear-factor eating competition for COURAGE WEEK and our personal favourite, an 'Adopt an egg and look after him for a week' challenge for OWNERSHIP WEEK. We had a ball!

Cape Gate Kids Holiday Zone
Every holiday Show Works organises Cape Gate's Gators Kids Club. A place where children come to have fun! And fun they have. There is a ball pond, a colouring-in station, face painting, arts and crafts, movies, story-telling and best of all, no parents! This holiday the zone was packed each day with kids having a blast and we can't wait to bring the joy all over again in December.

World Recycling Day
Our World Recycling Day show at the Waterfront was a hit and despite the imminent weather the skies cleared for us and the seats filled. The audiences loved taking part in the Reduce/Reuse/Recycle challenges and we loved another opportunity to learn, teach and be on stage!

Thanks September, you were a goodie!

October has a lot to live up to, but seems to be rising to the challenge as we frantically finish up preparations for two big top secret Discovery Networks events on the 14th. Watch this space!
