OPERATION CLIMATE CONTROL - Educational School's Show

Our educational school's show of OPERATION CLIMATE CONTROL is touring primary schools, to the delight of teachers and learners alike.

In the show, two alien scientists, Beebot and Zoig, teach Ben all about the Earth's Climate and Global Warming, and how - even though he is 'just a kid' - he too can play a part in reducing his carbon footprint and saving this planet!

SEASONS GREETINGS and farewell to 2010!

2010 has been a crazy, exciting, exhausting, fun, eventful, busy and hugely successful year for Show Works, and although we are really looking forward to good rest over the Festive Season, we are eternally grateful for the opportunities and successes that the year has heaped upon us! Sitting one table away from President Jacob Zuma, Premiere Helen Zille, Trevor Manuel, Mayor Dan Plato, amongst others, was quite a surreal experience! - not that we're name dropping or anything...Ok, actually, yes we are!! :-)

Show Works is currently producing the live game show of Somerset Mall's 'Spin and Win' Competition, happening every Saturday until 18th Dec.

Our game show host, Pedro Gonzalez, and his sexy assistant, Ditzy Mitzy, help our weekly contestants to "Keep Spending, Keep Spinning, Keep Winning, Keep Grinning!"

How does it all work?

Life in the fast lane...

Well, well, well - it's been a busy couple of months! Nevermind Lisa getting married (Congrats, Mr and Mrs Wynne!) and Sally moving house, Show Works has been keeping us running around as usual!

Our April school holidays were busy with two very fun contracts, one at Tygervalley Mall, producing a Children's Theatre Production for 90 kids aged 5-12 (!!) as well as our 'Flying Fairy' show at Cavendish Square's Enchanted Garden. (see Children's Theatre)

Our science show "Save our electriCITY" was invited to the SCIFEST AFRICA in Grahamstown (16 - 23 April 2008) where the show enjoyed a successfull run, and the cast had loads of fun - including a trip to see the World's Biggest Pineapple! ;-)

So...what's up next...?

At the moment, we are working on another fun and outrageous Discovery Channel Event - more info to follow.

'THAT SHAKESPEARE SHOW'

We are currently rehearsing for our upcoming schools tour of 'THAT SHAKESPEARE SHOW'- an Introduction to Shakespeare aimed at Grades 8 - 10.

The show covers: Romeo & Juliet, Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, Macbeth, Hamlet, Othello, Henry VI, Comedy of Errors, Twelth Night and Much Ado about Nothing, as well as all the fun and facts behind Shakespeare’s time, theatre and life!

“THAT SHAKESPEARE SHOW” is a unique opportunity for schools to demonstrate to learners the richness, fun and diversity of Shakespeare and Shakespearean language and era. It is an opportunity to explore the themes of the great works and explore how the Bard's stories are very much alive in a contemporary world!

We are running this show in the first term of 2008, from 20 Feb – 20 March 2008.

Good Hope FM generously sponsored 140 underpriveledged kids from Baphumelele Children's Home in Khayelitsha, and Ons Plek Girls Shelter in Woodstock to experience the magic of a morning at the Theatre to see Rumpelstiltskin! The children all got to meet and have photo's taken with the cast, and each received a Christmas sweetie hamper. A wonderful morning was had by all!

Marketing AWARD for Show Works

SHOW WORKS has won its first award!

Discovery Channel was awarded GOLD for the best intergrated marketing campaign at the PRO MAX AFRICA awards, for their promotion of EVEREST : Beyond the Limit in April 2007.

Show Works conceptualised and executed the campaign, with a huge event in Cape Town on 31st March 2007, as well as on air advertising, and guerilla marketing at traffic intersections to launch the event.

YAY! All that hard work paid off! A big thank - you to all our suppliers, performers and supporters!

Look What Discovery Channel's up to on the streets of Cape Town!

Following up on our Discovery Channel Media launch, Show Works orchestrated a hilarious ambush theatre scenario on the streets of Cape Town.
Our Deadliest Catch Crab (fondly known as Clinton), and our Friendly Fisherman promoted the new season of Deadliest Catch 2, starting Saturday 9th December at 9pm!

Then it was off to Camps Bay beach for some great photo opportunities!!! And, what a beautiful day in Cape Town!

Well, we're back in sunny Cape Town, and currently working on a couple of projects before the close of 2006!
We have some great End - of -Year Corporate Functions coming up, as well as writing an educational show - 'SAVE OUR electriCITY' which will be touring to schools in the first term 2007.
Also, keep a look out for Roahl Dahl's Revolting Rhymes (Children's Theatre) coming in April holidays 2007.

We've just received this great letter from Ons Plek Shelter regarding a charity performance of 'The Fabulous Fables of Aesop' we performed in September...
